I visited the Arlington TX Chevy/Cad/Buick full size vehicle plant in the early ‘90's and it was kind of a surprise.
As an example seeing the finishers using deadweight rubber hammers to adjust trunk fit. Also, when walking through and seeing rubber body mounts laying by the line half a building away from where they got installed.
It made you kind of wonder what kind of quality they were building.......

Most of those cars you see in those pictures are now dead.

The pictures I’ve seen of that place back then really looked like something out of the 1950s.
